BWB Temporium

This focus on experiences, this living in the now, instead of in the future, this lust to collect as many experiences and stories as soon as possible, is addictive. Take travel: these days, it's more of a basic consumer need than a luxury. It’s about detachment, fractional ownership or no ownership at all, trying out new things, escaping commitment and obligations, dropping formality, and of course collecting endless new experiences. No wonder tourism is and will remain one of the biggest industries in the world! And here we are smack dab in the middle of a tourist town!

GCBWB has latched onto the experience-based trend and added a touch of “planned spontaneity” to offer Holiday Temporium, a temporary BWB retail experience at Kings Crossing Center in Winter Park, CO. Holiday Temporium is synonymous with seeking inspiration. The BWB team has sifted through local innovations in design, technology, art and culture to create Winter Park’s
first-ever Pop Up Retail

Experience available only Nov. 23 – Dec. 3, 2011. Don’t miss it!

Created in 2004, Grand County Businesses Without Borders (GCBWB) was the brainchild of several independent Grand County, Colorado business owners looking for ways to encourage support of all of our community-based businesses owned by friends, family and neighbors.

The same local business owners are primary supporters of our communities—not only with generous donations of dollars to our local non-profits, but also by committing untold hours of volunteer time, helping to make our local economy stronger--it became obvious that an effort to help sustain these businesses was necessary.

GCBWB has no monthly dues, memberships or fees required to participate. Don’t have a business? You are more than welcome to attend and get to know our local Grand County resources!

GCBWB participation offers twice a month GCBWB Networking Meetings hosted by local business people at their locations throughout the county, affording the hosting business an excellent opportunity to showcase their services or products to a varied audience; publication of a semi-monthly electronic newsletter; a blog and a Facebook page; the Spring Speed Networking event and the Fall Business Expo. Perhaps one of the most valuable tools of GCBWB is benefit of the “Ultimate In Word Of Mouth Marketing”! Leads, referrals and cooperative marketing opportunities are common practices of the GCBWB participants.

Grand County Businesses Without Borders is supported by annual sponsors who make all of this possible. Note our sponsors’ logos on this page, be sure to visit them and thank them at the meetings!

GCBWB would like to remind everyone:

• For every $100 spend in independently owned local businesses, $68 returns to the community (through taxes, payroll, and other expenditures). Spent in a national chain, we’re lucky if $43 stays in our community. Spent online—nothing comes home.

• Local charities, clubs and events are lost without local, independent businesses. Studies show that independent businesses donate more than twice as much per sales dollar than chains.

• Local businesses put less demand on local roads, sewers, traffic and safety services than big box stores.

• Independent local businesses consume less land, carry more locally-made products, locate closer to residents and create less traffic and air pollution.
